He believes it was a horrible accident, compounded by night “driving” when distances and mental perceptions distorted and darkness obscures what would be obvious during the day.

As the day has gone the anger, invective and outlandishness of the commentary on Facebook has multiplied. Below is a representative sample is what is circulating online, catcalls, hate speech, calls to arms, vows to fight Trump at whatever turn possible:

It is filled with the basic talking points – however, what politician or elected or unelected official doesn’t present the gospel according to them about their Administration or position – however more importantly – Trump, his Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, and the Secretary of Transportation, Stan Duffy, all presented a unified front, committed to finding out the cause of the air collision disaster, and to preventing air calamities from happening in the future. As one former Blackhawk pilot Mark McEathron in his early assessment of the the situation noted, “There is always a series of human errors leading up to these air accidents occurring.”

Former Senator and now Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat down today for a long form and no holds barred interview with journalist and commentator Megyn Kelly.
Secretary Rubio was candid, clear, and gave even a tremendous lesson in what it is that the State Department does, what his job is, and he gave detailed responses about the U.S.’s interests in the world are, including related to the Panama Canal and Greenland.
More importantly however he carefully explained that it is not that America is adventuring around the world trying to play at being the world’s policeman. Secretary Rubio made it clear – it is America’s interest in keeping its citizens safe, ensuring their well being first and foremost – and by extension, anything that threatens us physically, economically, ideologically, or politically, it is the State Department’s, his job to follow the Country’s laws, the Constitution, and the President’s policies – to engage with other countries and interests in a way to ensure that America’s, its citizens’ interests are first, and if possible in terms of other countries, in a way that respects other countries’ interests.
As Secretary Rubio noted – each and every other country puts their interests first – that is the way of the world. America is not being selfish, churlish, or absurd when it acts in America’s interest first.
