Outrage over DEI, gives way to USAID, gives way to Trump’s aspirational ideas for Gaza
The reality is the Never Trump, TDS Corps, Resist About Everything agitators and followers will never be satisfied or become silence because Trump is their reason for being, what validates their existence. Demonizing Trump has replaced for these folks the normal, day-to-day preoccupations of average people – work, family, play, hobbies, recreational pursuits, daily obligations.
A week ago DEI and transgender ideologies was occupying the Left’s oppositional energies, but when news broke that a rogue federal agency, the United States Agency for International Development, USAID was being investigated and its entire staff under stop work orders, that became the new clarion call for the Trump disaffected. They promptly swapped out the anger and resentment that heretofore had been directed at Trump, repackaged that vitriol and directed at Elon Musk.
The TDS defined, unforgivable crime is that Musk at the direction of the President was auditing and daylighting years of improprieties, questionable and maybe even fraudulent spending and transactions involving the managers of USAID. As the news unfolded, it turned out that an equal or greater problem was taking place, the majority of employees asserted angrily and openly to would-be federal controllers that they considered themselves above the rule of law, that they were not accountable to or under the authority of the Federal Government.
USAID leaders and employees believed that they were so far beyond being part of the US government that when DOGE agents sought to audit, access, and request USAID’s transactions and related documentation for the 10’s of millions of dollars of funds they had been doling feely out around the world, they tried to lock out DOGE managers, went dark web, and conspired to organize to actively and even physically resist President Trump and any agent of the government, including the DOGE, its head, Musk.
